As the director of Outside the Lab, Andy holds the responsibility of connecting the clients' creative vision with the practical design potential of the creative team. Having worked extensively as programmer, animator and web developer, he has a breadth of experience that enables him to traverse the many fields of graphical media with a vital amount of familiarity. Andy has 15 years of experience with digital media and received his formal education in Digital Arts and Animation at George Mason University, where he met Kris and Kurt while employees of the Mason Media Lab. Andy is also an avid photographer and enjoys bringing a camera along on his adventures.

Kurt Gallagher

The computer scientist of the team, Kurt takes the lead on all programming and logic projects. If there is a technical aspect of a project, whether it involves video, design or the web, Kurt ensures sure that things go smoothly. He has over 11 years of practical experience designing for the web and has been developing robust PHP solutions since 2002. Within the realm of computer science, Kurt's area of expertise is web development and databases. Kris Celeste

The graphic designer is a crucial part of the team. Every project with an element of design is vetted by Kris -- from human interfaces on web-based applications to multi-page print publications. Kris defines his design work with a minimalistic approach to quality through simplicity. He believes that the design value of a product comes from its ability to convey a straightforward message, and that simplicity is a subtle touch which enables a design to communicate directly to the audience.
